This course provides an overall understanding of the basic principles and applications of the major non-destructive examination (NDE) methods as they relate to AME Code Sections V, VIII, and XI. In addition to the typical classroom presentations, it also provides actual hands on demonstrations of the use of basic NDE equipment and materials. Robert E. Cameron is Quality Assurance Manager and Training Manager for TWI North America. Mr. Cameron completed his formal education at The Ohio State University and has spent over 40 years in Nondestructive Testing, Quality Control and Quality Assurance with more than 25 years involvement in training, consulting, auditing, and certification services. His career has spanned various industries including aerospace, nuclear, automotive, railcar, shipbuilding, power generation and petrochemical. He has conducted technical training programs and consulting services throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Greece, Mexico, Japan, and Venezuela. He has also conducted training programs for ASNT, ASM, ASME and AWS. His is an ASNT Level III in MT, PT, RT, UT, ET, VT and NR; an ACCP Professional Level III in MT, PT, RT, UT, and VT; a CSWIP ACFM Level II, an AWS CRI. He is an ASNT Fellow and has served on the ASNT Board of Directors. He has received the ASNT Tutorial Award, the ASNT Mentoring Award, and the AWS District 18 Private Sector Instructor Award. He is a member of ASNT, ASTM, and AWS, and serves on the Advisory Board for the NDE Program at North Harris College. is an adjunct instructor at San Jacinto College in the ATTC NDE Program.
Charles J. Hellier was the founder of HELLIER and currently serves as an Independent Consultant. He is called upon frequently to provide independent third-party assessments and to assist in the resolution of disputes as an expert witness. He has been active in the Technology of Nondestructive Testing and related Quality and Inspection fields for over 50 years. He holds an ASNT Level III Certificate in five methods and is a Board Certified Forensic Examiner. He recently authored the “Handbook of Nondestructive Evaluation”, published by McGraw-Hill.
