This course covers the essential design and operation of elevators and escalator systems and will address the terminology and functions of the various associated mechanical and electrical components.

Course coverage includes electric elevators, hydraulic elevators for freight and passenger applications, and escalators. Various modes of operation, including both automatic and manual functions as well as various control methods are covered. Emergency evacuation and firefighter service is also reviewed.

This course is designed for persons with little or no elevator and escalator experience, including, but not limited to, those responsible for:

  • Maintenance administration
